1. Download Application and Region Zip To Your Desktop

Application Zip On Desktop   Region Zip On Desktop

2. Create Folder C:\TweetChirp on Desktop computer

3. Unzip Zip files to Folder C:\TweetChirp

Folder C:\TweetChirp has contents of the TWO zip files

Access Your Storage Card on your PDA

What is a Storage Card?

It is the memory chip which is inserted into a PDA for extra or external memory.

How to access a Storage Card

1. ActiveSync (software) for Windows OS (Operating System) provides DLA (Drive Letter Access) as ‘Mobile Device’ (Folder) using Windows Explorer

2. Insert Storage Card into a card reader which is connect to the desktop computer and it appears as a DLA (Drive Letter Access) e.g. E:, F:, G:, H:, I: etc

3. Drive Mode for Palm OS provides DLA (Drive Letter Access) as CARD H: (or some other Letter; e.g., E:, F:, G: etc) using Windows Explorer

4. On your PDA Storage Card create Folder TweetChirp Assistant (note the space)

5. Copy contents of Folder C:\TweetChirp to PDA Storage Card Folder TweetChirp Assistant

 C:\TweetChirp   \TweetChirp Assistant

What is a ‘link’ file?

It is a special file used by the Windows OS (Operating System) to link or ‘point’ to a file to be executed.

It has an extension of LNK or lnk e.g.

TweetChirp.lnk

TweetChirp2000.lnk

TweetChirp2003.lnk

TweetChirp2005.lnk

TweetChirp2007.lnk

The extension is NEVER visible but can be accessed by a TEXT editor such as NotePad.exe

It is a TEXT file (not a BINARY file) with ONE line of TEXT which means it can be accessed by NotePad.exe to view and edit.

Format of a Link File

Number of characters including spaces between the double quotes + Full Path of the executable file

Note: The NAME of the Storage Card varies from PDA to PDA; e.g., Storage Card, SD Card, Storage Card1, Storage Card2 etc. If the name of the Storage Card is different than the name of the Storage Card in the ‘link’ file then the ‘link’ file must be edited to change that name; e.g.,

6. Copy the ‘link’ file (extension is lnk) from C:\TweetChirp to PDA Folder Windows\Start Up\Programs

C:\TweetChirp   \Windows\Start Up\Programs

The link file will appear in the Programs Folder on the PDA

7. Copy all help file (extension hlp) from C:\TweetChirp to PDA Folder Windows

C:\TweetChirp\*.hlp \Windows

TweetChirp Desktop:

In C:\TweetChirp double click file setup.exe to install application Copy contents of C:\TweetChirp to Folder C:\Program Files\TweetChirp Assistant

C:\TweetChirp\*.* C:\Program Files\TweetChirp Assistant

Link or Short Cut is automatically set up under Start\Programs

TweetChirp Legacy:

In folder C:\TweetChirp double click file setup.exe to install application on PDA

Copy contents of PDA Folder \Program Files TweetChirp Assistant to PDA Storage Card Folder TweetChirp Assistant

\Program Files\TweetChirp Assistant\*.* \TweetChirp Assistant

Copy the link file TweetChirp.lnk from PDA Folder \Program Files\TweetChirp Assisant to PDA folder \Windows\Start Up\Programs so that it is visible on the PDA on the Programs screen

\Program Files\TweetChirp Assistant\TweetChirp.lnk \Windows\Start Up\Programs

Copy all of the *.dat and *.wav files from C:\TweetChirp to PDA Storage Card Folder TweetChirp Assistant

TweetChirp Palm:

Copy contents of Sub Folder C:\TweetChirp\Palm to Storage Card Folder \Palm

C:\TweetChirp\Palm \Palm

Copy C:\TweetChirp\Palm\Launcher\TweetChirpAssistant.prc to Storage Card Sub Folder Palm\Launcher

C:\TweetChirp\Palm\Launcher\TweetChirpAssistant.prc \Palm\Launcher

TweetChirp2000:

Copy TweetChirp2000.exe from the appropriate subfolder ARM, MIPS or SH3 from C:\TweetChirp to match your PDA chip to Storage Card Folder TweetChirp Assistant

C:\TweetChirp\ARM\TweetChirp2000.exe \TweetChirp Assistant

C:\TweetChirp\MIPS\TweetChirp2000.exe \TweetChirp Assistant

C:\TweetChirp\SH3\TweetChirp2000.exe \TweetChirp Assistant
